| Instead of the standard 4-cell battery that was supposed to have shipped with this system (1707-WK5), there's an 8-cell
battery attached. Not only that, when I first powered up the system and installed the Power Manager utility, the battery's cycle count was
0. First use date is last November so it must not have been used off of the AC adapter that much. System still appears to have the
original 100GB 7200RPM hard drive (HTS721010G9SA00) and 1GB of memory. The wireless system works great and I've also been able to test out
the three USB ports with the included HP mouse, verify that the Bluetooth is working and that the SD slot can recognize SDHC cards. I still
need to check out a few more items (USB 2.0 speeds, the FireWire port, the ethenet jack and maybe the modem). The only physical defect that
I can find is that there's a missing cover/lens for the infrared transmitter and receiver. The Windows XP install is not the factory image
but I wasn't going to worry about it since I already bought a set of restore disks. Besides the HP mouse, the deal included a 65W AC adapter
and everything was delivered inside a (large) HP laptop bag; it's big enough for a T60. I'm almost kicking myself for not getting a
second one; there were three still available when I bought mine. Price for everything? $275 shipped FedEx Ground. |
