These are some pictures comparing a Colorware-customized W500 with one of my standard W500 systems. It all started with this thread at forum.thinkpads.com. A .PDF copy of the original eBay listing is here. Each image on this page is clickable for a larger 1024 x 768 image; 100KB to 200KB each.
Top right corner. Colorware is on top of one of my regular W500 systems. | Top left corner. If you look closely, you can see that the Colorware lid is duller. |
Back edge of lid. The Colorware lid has the clear plate installed backward. I'm going to look at the Chuck episode again to see if I can get a clear look at this area. This screencap is a little blurry. | Right corner of palmrest. It's easy to see the difference in the duller Colorware paint/coating (on top) and the speckled/textured palmrest of a normal system. |
Left of the touchpad. | Right edge of keyboard bezel. The dull paint of the Colorware system resembles the old 600-series "rubberized" coating. |
Left hinge showing Colorware logo. | Front left. Colorware system on top. You'll notice that none of the ports and switches are now labelled. |
Headphone and microphone jacks. | Card reader port. |
